The fourth meeting of the Council, which took place on the fourth of December, was dedicated to the discussion about the guidelines for updating the regional development strategy until 2020.
“Malopolska is at the turning point. If we don’t build the social capital in our country during the next few years, we will miss the opportunity of knowledge-based development and we will be left far behind the developed countries” – that was the main conclusion of the scientific conference “Social capital – the key factor of the regional development. Should we create social capital? Where, what for and how?”. The conference was organized in Krakow on the 1st of December, by the Malopolska Development Policy Observatory.
The employees of the Malopolska Policy Development Observatory were on a visit in Lyon on the invitation of the Rhone-Alpes region. The primary objective of the visit was to get an insight into methods used by the Department of Evaluation, Forecasts and Relations with Citizens working within the regional office of Rhone-Alpes, in the processes of evaluation of regional public policies and of management control.
The Development Policy Observatory has begun the evaluation of the impact of projects implemented by the Małopolska universities and colleges with the European funds on the growth of regional economic competitiveness and reinforcement of the R+D sector in the region.
